First-Time Users

Tutorials for First-Time ILogin Registration

Sign-up using ILogin ** if you meet one of the following criteria:

  • If you have received a letter from SRS.
  • If you are a new user to Member Services website.
  • If you want to stop using the Illinois Public Portal and register for ILogin

If you haven't received an activation code letter from SRS and would like to sign in using ILogin, request an activation code letter. If you've misplaced your letter, contact SERS to request a new activation code letter. 

IMPORTANT: The activation code letter will be mailed to the last address you had on file with SERS.

Registration Instructions

Step 1: To begin the registration process, click “Sign up”.

Step 2: Enter your email address, name, and password of choice and click “Sign Up”.

Please Note: Only personal email addresses will be accepted. You will not be able to use your State of Illinois work email address to sign up or access your personal membership information.

Step 3: Select "Set up" under Email to start the account activation process.

Step 4: ILogin will send a verification email from ILogin.NoReply@Illinois.gov to start the activation process.

Step 5: Open your email from ILogin. Click “Activate ILogin Account”.

Once you click “Activate ILogin Account” in your email, a code will appear. Type this code into the prompt to continue.

Step 6: As part of your account registration, at least one MFA (Multifactor Authentication) must be added, (in addition to email) to secure your account and complete your ILogin account creation.

We recommend you select “Phone” as your MFA security Method. Phone is the simplest and will follow your phone number when you upgrade phones. Under Phone, click “Set up”.

Step 7: Type in your phone number and click “Receive a code via SMS”.

Step 8: Enter the code that you receive on your cell phone and click “Verify”.

Step 9: After setting up your first MFA, you can add additional MFA methods to increase the security of your ILogin account. This step is optional. Otherwise, your ILogin account setup is now complete.

Click “Set up later” to finish the setup and continue to the next step.

Step 10: Navigate to https://srs.Illinois.gov.

Select “Member Services Login Instructions”. 

Step 11: Select “Request Activation Code” from the webpage.

Note: If you have already received a letter from SRS with an activation code, you can skip this step.

Step 12: Input your information to verify your identity through SRS and click “Request Activation Code”.

Once we receive your request, SRS will mail you a letter with your activation code.

Once you have your code, proceed to https://member.srs.Illinois.gov

*Once you're finished in your Member Services account, be sure to click "Log Out". If you do not log out properly, you will receive an ILogin Application Denied error the next time you attempt to sign in and will need to clear your Cache in your Web Browser to fix it. How to Clear the Cache and Cookies in your Web Browser
